Another fairly rare loco this, a 5" un-rebuilt Fowler Royal Scot, but a true 3 cylinder model. Most Fowler Scots seem to be simplified 2 cylinder engines for some reason, but this one should sound like the real thing! The boiler is a professionally built silver soldered one from Mac Steam Models, and of course comes freshly hydraulicly tested and with a fresh steam test so she's ready to run.
There are two Chiverton vertical injectors fitted as well as a hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical with a reservoir on the running board, and there's a few neat little working oil pots to help get the lubricating oil into the hard to reach internal moving bits! Cosmetically it's definitely seen some use here and there, and it's wearing 'working clothes', but it still looks nicely presentable and doesn't detract too much from the model. Mechanically all is well and as always it'll leave our workshops with a fresh clean bill of health.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
